This morning we went towards the North of Faial to see a group of Sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus). Some animals were shallow diving. The group was composed by adult females, one of them with a very small calf, and at least one juvenile.
In the area, there was a small pod of less than 10 Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis). The pod was composed mainly by juvenils and calves: it was a nursery group.
Thank you all for joining our team. You can enjoy and share the pictures that our biologist Maria took during the expedition.
