|20230508| Sperm Whales, bottlenose, and common Dolphins!

What a great trip! Thank you for supporting our research and helping us collect data on sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus), bottlenose dolphins (Turiops truncatus), and common dolphins (Delphinus delphis).

Yesterday we traveled to the south of Faial to find a group of sperm whales! Since the visibility was challenging and our lookouts were struggling we worked together to try to find the group! We used our hydrophone to listen to the clicking of sperm whales while they searched for prey at great depths! And we found them!!

On our way back we managed to find two small pods of dolphins, a group of bottlenose and a group of common dolphins!! What a great trip!
